Hip Hop Artist left no stones unturned celebrating and saluting black power at the 2016 BET Hip-Hop awards by setting a political tone for the evening , expressing their support for the Black Lives Matter Movement and the importance of voting in the upcoming Presidential elections in November. Outside of recording studios, more mindful mainstream rappers have taken to platforms such as the BET Hip- Hop awards to speak on relevant black social issues.

Black Lives Matter Movement into poetry, delivering several affirmations, such as his refusal to be silent. Dropping bar after bar , the activist and emcee. discussed themes of oppression and culture appropriations, while also touching on private for – profit prisons and how the fight for equality will never stop. Lecrae also ended his epic poem with a shout out to President Obama for holding. it down for two terms.

Kendrick Lamar Present Snoop Dogg with “I Am Hip Hop Awards”
who also won the lyricist of the year BET Hip Hop awards , was all smiles and happy when he presented Snoop Dogg his idol , with Hip Hop’s highest honor , the I AM HIP HOP awards.
Upon presenting the awards,
Kendrick let it be known that,
“He mastered the game through tests and challenges that earned him the respect of a college professor, except his game came from the streets,” the Compton-bred rapper says. “He put me on game, so I would avoid the same pitfalls…Snoop Dogg was the god, and continues to be so.”
In his acceptance speech, Snoop Dogg
gave young up and coming rappers some sound advice and encouragement saying,
“To all the young rappers in the game, a lot of people don’t understand you,” Snoop says. “Y’all are misunderstood. I was misunderstood at the beginning. So you got to keep pushing, be original and diverse. Hip Hop was created many years ago and it’s taken people so many places. You have to be who you are.”
